.
I’m from West Virginia and I moved to Virginia about 3 years ago.
I turning 61 in two more months from now.I started collect different kinds of logging equip. over time, j-hooks spreader chains with driving grabs, and dog grab chains with swivels, different size cable sheaves, log chains, team work harness, mostly from road side country sales.
Had two Belgium Geldings 5 & 6 year olds which weighed a little over a ton a piece. Had chainsaws with different size bars up to around 38 inches.
I wanted to get into custom logging with horses because there were a lot of people in my area who had small stands of timber with good timber including High Quality Vanier that would not let timber cutters in with machines to tear up their land or there stand was to small for the mechanical logger to make a profit on the small acre plots of land.
I also wanted to buy a band saw mill to cut my own timber and make a log arch to drag logs with the team.
No horse loggers in my part of the woods or country.
About the time I was ready to further on I came down with a heart problem which is not curable and so I had to retire in April of 2001 and sell or give away every logging thing I acquired … Horses, Saws, equip. Etc.
Now I’m Retired and Laying Back drawing S.S. Disability Insurance I paid into over the years I worked.

Sorry you can’t get into the woods anymore. I can’t imagine myself in that situation…
You still have any of the skidding equipment you picked up? Specifically J-hooks, log grabs, etc?
Take care.
