Okay, before I get the obligatory “Ha ha we just let it fall in the woods!” answer, this question is aimed at the people who do cart work in town or wagon rides in town. I’m deciding between the standard “Horse Diaper” and the “Bun Bag”. I’m leaning towards the Bun Bag but I don’t know how well it will work if your horses tail is docked fairly short.

Has anyone ever used either? What are the benefits of one over the other?

    Hey BigLug,

I have a question – What would the tail docking have to do with how well these things work?

The “Bun Bag” connects to the horses tail so when it lifts it’s tail to poop it opens the top of the bag. Lets it lay flatter when not in use. The “Horse Diaper” doesn’t matter what is going on with the tail.

We’ve used both and they each seem to work just fine with docked tails. I think the bun bags are a bit nicer, since they lay flatter.

How about a shovel & 5 gal bucket hanging off the rear axle. it does require that one stops & scoops.

That’s one way but when you have a young horse I don’t believe in letting go of the lines and walking away from them to scoop.
