I’ve been raising and working Percheron Draft Horses for 30 years. I’ve done most farm jobs with a single horse, a team and four abreast. I’ve halued logs on a sleigh, on a skid, by themselves and with hundreds of feet of steel cable and snatch blocks. I’ve trimmed hooves and made shoes. I’ve applied standard shoes, corrective shoes and Scotch Bottoms. I’ve shown horses in line classes, hitch classes and obstacle courses. I’ve owned a stallion and hand bred mares. I’ve done artificial insemination. I’ve been a judge at horse shows. I’ve hauled horses in a bumper pull, gooseneck, 40 foot semi trailer and even in a converted school bus.
I am a licensed contractor. I built a barn that’s 100 feet square. I’ve broke horses to ride or drive. I’ve been kicked, stepped on, bit and drug.
I’m 55 years old and live in cold climate. Been single for three years.
I believe that there are at least two ways to look at everything, so will likely play devil’s advocate from time to time. Willing to learn and teach. - AuthorPosts
