I am needing some assistance. I found a JD #1 mower that I am thinking about buying. I have a couple of questions as I am a little unsure of the condition. The mower appears to be in gear and it rolls backwards with a “clicking” sound. It does not roll forward any distance except maybe a 1/4 of a revolution of the wheel. I am unable to disengage the drive. I have a couple of questions. What are the possible problems with this mower? Would it be worth fixing? Obviously something is not “free”. Also, what would be the value of this mower? I don’t want to buy this mower if it is not repairable. Otherwise everything else looks complete and in serviceable condition. It does have what appears to be a tongue that allowed it to be pulled with a tractor. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
