that looks like a lot of fun!!! How old do they need to be before you start them under saddle?

can only speak for mine: 4 years
my niece had the courage to sit on mine today, good bucking bull 😮
ah, well, had the saddle on him for some time for walks and started adding weight, finally added my niece…..
brought them both home safe and sound 😉 some bushes took a beating…..

Wow, such a professional video! I think I will have you train Will and Abe after seeing that. Mir war nicht bewusst, dass Sie Deutsch sprechen so gut!

Well, I don’t know if bRod or Snook will jump, but I bought an old saddle to try to ride them. Snook’s brother was really into this saddle thing, but was killed a week ago when the shed they were all in collapsed. The other 3 got out in time, but Snifter waited just a hair too long.
So far I’m only at the sitting with bRod cross tied stage. I “backed” Snook for the first time yesterday. He knew what to expect, having seen his brother do it.
I’m excited. I know nothing about riding, so it should be an adventure for all of us.
An added bonus: the saddle will help hold the yoke in place when I begin Snook as a single.

Hi oxnun – I got your email the other day, just been rushed off my feet! Tragic to lose an ox like that, we had the same thing happen here recently and my herefordX heifer in training was the only one to be injured in a herd of 50 🙁 she sliced her ankle, it’s healed now but I think she’ll always have a lump on it. Hopefully your remaining fella will adapt to life as a single.
