Does anyone have experience using a “kicker style” hay tedder? It has the tines that look like meat forks mounted on a sort of crankshaft.

Do these things do a decent job of tedding loose mowed hay (not in a windrow)?

It’s sure nice to think about hay instead of snow:D

I have one that is darn near worn out. When it works it does a good job. Whenever I try and use it something always breaks and parts are next to impossible to find.

I have one McCormick, works great, they do wear out if used with a tractor.

We have had them at our Draft Horse Field Days at Shelburne farms. One is team sized and the other is single horse size. Both women that drive with them use them on their farms for haying all summer. The single one was recently refurbished and is in beautiful shape.

Here are some pictures of them.

    Jean,

Is that a Pioneer set of shafts on the single tedder? Great pics by the way. Looked like a great day to be out working with the horses. But then again what day isn’t.
