I.m logging steep ground at the mo I use small snatch blocks made for 4x4s and 10mm wire rope sold as strawline for haulers.I have a 25 mtr & a 50 long lengths that can be shackled together.its a 2 man operation 1 man pulls rope sets pulley’s and hooks up logs the other man works the horses you pull logs down the real steep to where its safe to re hook I use short reins so I can hang em on the hames then stand where its safe and send them off to the landing.the blocks are the key you can pull around & over most things with a pulley in the right place and you can keep the draft low I found horse.s pull much better when all four legs are grounded.you can pull massive loads on real steep ground this way it works for me anyway hope it helps.
