maine and all of us lost a bullwhacker the night before last.
“cy” wagg died of natural causes. he was an ox man, and could cut and guage a neck yoke out of a firewood pile with a chainsaw in about twenty minutes. he liked yellow birch with ash bows. we were days apart in age, worked the woods at the same time and were good friends. he was pretty rough but honest. hated doctors. his dad bob was in a movie called ” dead river roughcut “. if you ever saw it you would know all about cy. don’t know where you go when you die, but they’re having more fun there than we’re havin’ here right now.

Isn’t there a clip of Cy driving cattle in that movie?

They just don’t make’em like the old New Englanders anymore!

Thanks for telling us about Cy. I’ve watched “Dead River” down here in exile in NY. How are the guys?
Yeah, they’re rough but real. We need more.

That’s a fact. Sometimes it comes in batches; all of a sudden many old friends are no longer around.
