I always thought I was so good at finding ticks before they got me that I didn’t need to worry about about Lyme disease, well guess what. I can tell you it sucks. I have been totally incapacitated for a week so far waiting for the antibiotics to kick in.
Take my advice All of you out out there in the brush and bramble with deer dicks be safe and don’t let your guard down.

hope you found it early – Took my doc and a knee surgeon close to two years to finally diagnose mine – It never showed on the tests until may of this year – I haven’t worked comfortably since november and burn out by noon most days –

My best to you both and hope you heal up quickly.

BTW – there’s also a condition known as tick paralysis in which the patient has a reaction to the tick bite or saliva that can cause a temporary paralysis of an area of the body. A student who worked for me woke up one morning w/ one side of his face paralyzed = lasted about a week to 10 days. Caused by various tick species. But hardly as bad as Lyme disease.

I think I have made a pretty near full recovery, although its hard to tell if its the Lyme Disease or the manual labor in the summer heat that is kicking my but now :p

I went undiagnosed for 30 years. Lyme has stolen the best years of my life. 🙁

    Tom,

You can certainly blame the heat and humidity for some of the butt kicking, we are Lyme free here and still dragging our bottoms in this weather.
My best to all of you.
