Mowing Machine Raffle:
Whether your mower is in need of a tune-up or you haven’t gotten around to buying one yet, you can support DAPNet and get your chance to win a McCormick Deering #7 mowing machine with a 6′ cutter bar on steel/rubber? wheels. The machine is a collaborative project being donated by mower rebuilders Jay Bailey of Brattleboro, VT and Donn Hewes of Marathon, NY. The body of the mower is being taken apart, cleaned and rebuilt this summer by Jay Bailey at his mower shop. He is cleaning and painting the components, going through the gear box with grease, new bearings, fittings & bushings. Wheels will be painted and the body will be assembled with new pitman arm and the cutter bar, pole & evener that Donn will bring from his shop. The Annual Gathering will feature a workshop with Jay & Donn covering the details of adjustment and fine-tuning as the mower is readied for the drawing. One lucky ticket will be drawn during the Annual Gathering and the winner will choose either $1,000 cash or the mowing machine. Additionally, a silent auction will be held during the weekend in case the raffle winner chooses cash. In that case, the mower will go to the top silent auction bidder (if they meet the reserve amount). Raffle tickets are $10 each or 5 for $30.
To purchase tickets, please send your name, address (where you would like raffle tickets sent), phone number, email address and number of tickets you would like to purchase along with a check for the amount you would like to purchase, (Raffle tickets are $10 each or 5 for $30) to:DAPNet509 Dutton Brook LaneBrownington VT 05860or look for a DAPNet table at Horse Progress Days, the NOFA-MA summer conference, MOFGA’s Common Ground Fair or at the Annual Gathering.
