New From Maine!

Hello everyone! Glad to have found another draft animal forum! I’m also a member of “drafthorsevillage”.
I’ve been around draft horses my whole life, primarily Belgians with a few Percherons in the mix now and then. My family and I have been using our horses for farming and logging for 4 generations, maybe longer! We mow and bale our own hay every summer, use our teams for logging in the woods and also do hayrides, sleigh rides, and weddings. I have a young team of Belgian geldings, a 2 year old and an 18 month old. I hope to start them together this winter and eventually use them myself for hayrides etc., and also logging and farming. I look forward to meeting all of you and learning and discussing with you!

Welcome to DAP. I live just up the road on Appleton Ridge and use drafts in the woods. I am sure we will run into each other at some point.

hey Ashley! I’m glad you found me on fb and I’m happy to see you here. looking forward to sharing info and maybe having work/playdates with our horses someday! sorry I never got back to you about that harness. we decided to go with the ones the horses came with.
