hey all!
my name is Rai and my partner Dylan and I are just starting our horse powered farm in midcoast maine. we have a wonderful team of Belgians adopted from Blue Star Equiculture, King and Prince, who have been teaching kids of all ages how to farm for the last few years and are the wisest, most willing and generous horses I have ever had the privilege to know. I have been a rider and been around horses for much of my life, but only just recently learned to drive and realized how important it is to preserve our relationship with the working horse.
our goal is to have a diversified, sustainable small farm/homestead with the horses as our primary source of traction. we are raising pork and chickens and thinking about doing a small dairy operation in addition to a large market garden.looking forward to exchanging ideas and information with you all and learning about all your different draft animals.
attached is a pic of our boys moving some brush with my partner and our friend Quinn.

Mind set is the same.) Looks like you have the right idea. It’s August. We live in Maine. Haul fire wood. I live in Michigan. We think the same way. Nice to meet you.
