My name is Kari pronounced car-ee and yes I am male. I have to add that or I get accused of being a member of the fairer sex. Once you meet me you would think that is one homely woman.

Anyhow, I am a farmer want to be. I have a full time day job and farm a little on the side. It is land that was owned by my great grandparents and now my parents. I help them as the dumb labor. We farm about 200 acres of small grains and 160 acres of irrigated land that is mostly alfalfa hay with small grains as a rotation. We run about 35 head of mother cows mostly angus with hereford bulls at the present. We mostly use draft animals to feed out with a team. The lostfarmer handle came from not being able to farm and being lost to it. LF

Nice to meet you. I am a young teamster still in training. I am 13 years old, and I love to work my horses if you have any questions feel free to ask me or my Dad [Hoss].

yea, it is me KM on another board. But mostly a lost and deranged farmer. Looks like a bunch of good folks to swap war stories with.

The foxtrotters are coming along. They are a little scrawny in the muscle department but they can get to town in a hurry. It has been to cold to fight a green team to feed this week. I have a bit of and ugly pull in a couple of spots that makes a team scratch. Figured I would get them going before I pounded on them on the feed route.

Thanks for the welcome Nonie and Gordon. I lurked for awhile as I didn’t need another site hogging my time. But since I am almost unemployed at the office it makes sense to keep busy somehow. LOL

    Welcome Kari,

We are gettin’ quite an Idaho contingent on here…

For what its worth the strongest, most ornery friends/aquaintances I have are named Stacey & Tracey. 6’7″ & 6’3″ respectively. Also have two friends named Kim. Pretty common out here…

My name is Sue, how do you do… JCash 😎

Kari! Heck I know this guy. Good to have you here. Don’t let him fool you guys he knows how to handle a team plenty good.
I am going to bale into the mule project tomorrow. Been to sick to do so far. Going to ride them first then go to driving a little later.
I just talked to Nonie a little bit ago and she’s dropping off her Perch filly for me to feed with for a bit too. Plenty goin on here these days, and I thought I might get bored this winter!

    Geoff,
We are in the Teton Valley on the Wyoming boarder. It is about 10 hours to Moscow from here if the roads are good. Thanks for the welcome. LF

Hey LostFarmer – Good to meet you! I’m a bit south of Geoff = on the Salmon River outside of White Bird. {70 miles south of Lewiston}…we got 4 inches of snow last week…but it’s all gone, now. I’ve got 2 large-standard donkeys that are either learning what I’m trying to teach them, or already know it & are fooling me.

Robert, I know just what you are talking about. Just tell everyone that YOU trained them to do everything, because who are they going to tell !! And even if they did, who is going to believe a talking donkey!
