Yep, I broke them. They are no longer available from Townline. Anyone?

I am at a loss why they broke. They were up in the bale chamber when they did, so I assume it is plunger related.
I’ve got some head scratching ahead of me this weekend!
MarkJuly 2, 2010 at 10:31 pm #61193jacParticipantMark you’ll need to check the timing out before you put more hay thru.. sounds like the chain has jumped but the ram stop should have came in to play..unless its siezed ?? or a bit of wood or something blocked the slots in the plunger.. its always a nervy experience starting to bale again after they swallow the needles .. good luck….

I would check that out. There should be a lever that the needle carrier hits when they are out and when they are in the lever should drop activating the plunger block. These are a pair of blocks that enter the chamber and will stop the plunger dead in its tracks. They will break shear bolts but that is better than needles.
JoshuaJuly 3, 2010 at 2:27 am #61192mitchmaineParticipanthey mark, joshua ‘s right about that spring in the bale case holding the haydog. that should just shear pins. but if your needles were up in there, that also means your brake pads holding your needles “home” aren’t working. they might just need tightning, but they are cheap insurance.
