I just dug my old ox cart out of storage. My father bought it 30 years ago and packed it away when I sold the team I had at the time. This is the first time I had this team on a cart. They didn’t like the noise of the steal wheels on the paved road but as soon as we hit the field they settled right down.

Nice cart. I sure would like one like that.

Really nice! I just got an old freight wagon for my mule team. Took it out tonight for its maiden voyage. They did great, but it took me a little getting used to being so high up! I’ll post pics when we ge out with the camera.

She is a beauty, it is nice that your father bought and stowed it away for awhile, a cart like that can certainly be good to have at hand.

I have another one made on an old car axle that rolls smoother and has a dumping box, but it doesn’t look as cool. I do two parades every year, I think I’ll put some fresh finish on this one and save it for “good”.

Wow, gorgeous! Oxen look real nice too. How nice you can use something your father kept. (I am seriously coveting that cart!)

I am defiantly lucky. I come from a long line of ox teamsters, I have yokes that were my great grandfathers, as well as a nice walking plow and the irons for several sleds and scoots although the wood is long gone. I tried to put a few more pics on but can’t get them to load. With just three bolts the box could come right off that cart and bolt onto a scoot for winter work.
