Last year I built a custom center cut mower for some friends. While it worked OK, it never really satisfied. As a center cut mower it was already set with shafts for a single horse. It is made from a McD #9, with steel wheels, and will have a 4 1/2 ‘ bar. It is getting new guards and knife this winter. By spring it will be in perfect mowing condition. I think the 4 1/2 foot bar will work best with a good sized draft that wants to work.
