This lamp came with my new home. Think it was a real working yoke? It looks a bit small, but it could have been a training yoke? It has holes for ox bows that look slightly worn. I’m sure it doesn’t date back to the age of the house, as the electrics are pretty new (relatively speaking anything in that house less than 50 years old is “new”.)
None of the hardware up top looks right? But that could have been added later when converted to a lamp. The hardware below comes to a hook below the usual ring.

This use isn’t so bad as the lawn ornament craze. I agree, it is sad to have good equipment being ruined out in the rain on someones lawn. I saved an amazing manure spreader from its fate this year.

Sadly, these kinds of things are the closest most folk get to real draft equipment. I’d rather see another useful thing made from it for people to see and remember than have it left to rot or put in a burn pile.
I’ll get/make a new one when I get my own oxen.
