Today in the barn
Cozy inside
Outside a storm
Through a window spied
A blizzard they say
The snow and the blow
From the north it did lay
And bitter to know
I looked in to see
And be sure all was well
And then saw they me
A neck turned, a bell
As snug as can be
Dry bedded and warm
Chewing the cud
No thought of harm
I suspect they liked it
As the storm churned and blew
The care of their humans
Those oxen knew
Then went peace into my being
The trust I was seeing
That’s how it made me feel
That day and stormy ordeal…
