I take most any good work i can find for the horses, carriages, and myself. Today we hauled the Stevens High School Class of 1972’s float in the Alumni Parade in Claremont, NH. They took first prize for converting my wagon into a covered wagon, and ended up giving me the parts. (Electrical conduit bracing will find a new home pretty quick.)

Even with crowds 6-10 people deep on both sides I am proud to say the boys never put a foot wrong. I do keep a knowledgeable walker on each side to keep people from walking in front, and to hold head if need be. My favorite was while waiting for an hour to get called to lineup they stood ground tied better than they ever have.
    So proud today.

That’s awesome, Jay! We did a couple of parades last year as well and I know that feeling….in a place where something SHOULD go wrong and it DOESN’T….makes you very proud of your team!

On the way home from the parade the opportunity for ice cream presented itself. I don’t like to support industrial ag, but we had to have a little fun.
