We purchased a footlift plow in December, the plow is to be shipped out in early April. I read the latest SFJ advert and they have a few mods to the plow. So I foned today to ask how much extra I would have to send to get the latest spec. Was told I was getting the latest plow and no extra charge was required !!! I know of a few companies this side of the pond that would have jumped at the chance to gain a few extra ££££.. Good honest folks to deal with and a pleasure.. Highly recommended..

I saw somewhere onsite (can’t remember where) where someone mentioned that Pioneer was creating a toolbar and equipment for garden work (if I remember the thread correctly), so I contacted Pioneer about if they were going to come up with a walk-behind version. They just contacted me and said “no”.
Just an update for anyone interested.December 27, 2011 at 6:48 pm #51388Robert MoonShadowParticipantGot an email from Pioneer, saying they are now releasing the new toolbar setup – with a price list. It follows:

December 27, 2011 at 7:24 pm #51392Kevin CunninghamParticipantI just saw that they were releasing this “homesteader” platform in 2012. Thank you for posting the pricing. I am interested because it seems to be about the right size for “garden scale” production. None of my fields are ever larger than an acre and most of our vegetable production happens in garden sized plots. I wonder how it would work with oxen. It is a bit spendy for me but if I calculated all the time I would have to clock to find and restore cheap antiques maybe I could actually come out ahead….. Wait, wait, wait…. I just calculated the total and it comes out less then $3500 that’s cheaper than buying a new BCS rototiller with only a rototiller attachment! Of course that wouldn’t include any shipping costs, but that’s another story. I am very tempted
December 27, 2011 at 7:57 pm #51389Robert MoonShadowParticipantKevin – Perhaps they could be convinced to send some to the SFJ auction in April in Oregon, to showcase and sell…would save on shipping, methinks. Isn’t there a big equipment showcase (along the lines of the Horse Progress Days in the Midwest) each year somewhere in Callie? Perhaps Pioneer would consider that, too.
I’m looking forward to hearing from them about fitting it to me donks.December 27, 2011 at 9:06 pm #51393Kevin CunninghamParticipantThat is not a bad idea. I have never been to the SFJ auction but this year I am going to make it. April is always a hard month to get away for me but this is the year I am going. Does Pioneer usually bring equipment to SFJ? I guess we’ll see
December 28, 2011 at 7:28 am #51386near horseParticipantHi Kevin and Robert,
Midwest Leather, a Pioneer distributor in UT, makes it up to SFJ and has brought some equipment to demo (and sell). This last year I know they brought a walking plow w/ one of the Kvernland bottoms on it – usually see those bottoms on the riding plows. They were out in the field at the fairgrounds testing it out and allowing those interested to “have a hand at it”. Might shoot them a line to see if they’d make sure to get one on the truck this year. I’ve got their e-mail somewhere but surely it’s in the vendor stuff here on DAPNet.
December 28, 2011 at 7:11 pm #51390Robert MoonShadowParticipantHere’s today’s email from Pioneer…
Hello Robert…
Thanks for working with us….I appreciate your efforts to help us move forward…
I also wanted you to know that we are now taking advance orders…we will be producing on demand until we get a handle on the number of orders…we will begin shipping in order received on or about February 1st….this item is our largest initial demand item we have had…
Have a Happy New Year…
Blessings to All,
David
