I got a message from Stephanie, searched the url online, and it came up on a bunch of different forums. Too bad cuz it’s nice getting PMs sometimes….
March 24, 2010 at 9:48 am #57008Carl RussellModeratorThanx, I nuked her today. Sorry about that, Carl
March 24, 2010 at 4:55 pm #57024near horseParticipantWow Carl – I had no idea that the spamming was that rampant. I’m sorry that you have to spend so much effort cleaning up this junk. I can’t say this strongly enough and think I speak for many when I say, “thank you Carl, I (we) appreciate all that you do for this community.”
March 24, 2010 at 8:44 pm #57007Carl RussellModeratorThanks Geoff, This Stephanie had over 1000 private messages on her profile. Thank goodness I can ban and clean all in one fell swoop.
Thanx again, Carl

Hello. Email spam from your computer was detected! It is quite possible that it is a part of botnet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botnet).
Highly recommend you to scan your computer for malicious and potentially unwanted software. If you do not follow this, I will have to make a complaint to your Internet Service Provider with attached log file (your IP address, etc.).

This is an online service that you can use for free spyware removal. Use it to scan your computer to help protect, clean, and keep your computer running at its best. Use the free scan to check for and remove viruses, spyware, and other potentially malicious software and to find vulnerabilities or shortcomings in your Internet security.
Sincerely, Robert Davis.

Draft Animal Power – Sustainable Farming, Forestry and LivingCame to the site, but have no PM in my inbox.
So I suspect I’m getting spam that says I’m spamming.
Not.:cool:April 4, 2010 at 10:59 pm #57037rdgfrmParticipantI have recieved two emails the same as the one posted above but nothing in my private messages. This must be a spammer. Please check it out Carl. Thanks, Murray
April 4, 2010 at 11:11 pm #57023416JonnyParticipantYeah, I got something similiar to that today.
I was all excited because I’m not online here that much anymore and figuring that it was Easter, somebody was wishing me a happy holiday!
But, instead it was spam.
April 4, 2010 at 11:13 pm #57026dominiquer60ModeratorI also received this one
April 4, 2010 at 11:16 pm #57027RobinParticipantApril 4, 2010 at 11:30 pm #57014Carl RussellModeratorI nuked a PM spammer today who had sent over 1300 private messages. When I nuke’em like that the PM’s get erased from your in-boxes, and apparently you get a notice to let you know that I robbed it from you.
Double sorry.
Carl
April 5, 2010 at 9:11 pm #57030Robert MoonShadowParticipantWow. I didn’t get the spam OR an email notice it’d been nuked…
I feel so left out.
🙁
*It’s kinda bad when even the spammers don’t wanna talk wit’ you*
:pApril 9, 2010 at 12:50 pm #57018PatrickParticipantI’ve got three old ones in my in box that I’ve never opened, from LadyXAdmin, GooDFriend and Gurrergearrox.
