Hello, my name is Jon. I am interested in getting rid of my car and beginning a lifelong relationship with draft animals. I would like to work an animal on a 3 acre orchard, primarily for plowing/tilling and some logging.
I am also a school teacher and would like to ride to work everyday (5miles) on my animal so that my middle school students could get to know about animals.
I know getting an animal is a huge, sacred commitment. I’d like to spend some time with local people in Central Vermont to learn about horses and mules.
Thanks,
Novice Jon

Join the Grn Mtn Draft Horse Assoc. http://www.greenmoutaindraft.org We have a lot of members in your area and even more members that would like to meet new people interested in using animal power.
Our next meeting is in New Haven on April 6th. Potluck starts are noon, meeting soon after.

I certainly will not rush into anything until I have a very clear understanding of the commitments involved with owning a draft animal. I look forward to meeting some experienced people in this area.

Where are you in Central Vermont? I’m in Worcester and you’re welcome to come hang/work with me and my drafts.
