Reva sent this out this morning.
For those of you who cannot see it, this is a picture of a single horse equipped with a sprayer on its rump, kept in place with an apparatus that looks like a pair of shafts. A young Plain Clothed gentleman is riding the horse down the road, the short sprayer boom sticks out behind the horse and it looks like it will cover 4 rows at a time. The caption reads that he can spray organic corn at a rate of 20 minutes an acre with this invention.
I would never be interested in using sprayers for hardcore chemical spraying but would consider foliar feeding like David Fisher. The set up above is neat because with a single the farmer is able to get between taller rows of corn without the damage to the crop like a pull behind sprayer. I really enjoy the ingenuity that this picture shows.
If someone with more IT skills than me could post the picture here, I am sure that others would enjoy this picture as proof that even though an “old fashion” power source is being used, there are still many advancements in draft animal technology that can be made.
