Wait it’s not quite what you think. We sold off our old farm house and outbuildings at a decent profit and ended up keeping 51 acres of good land on the other side of the creek. With this we can build a new house,shop/machine shed and a new barn. If we don’t borrow for anything but the remainder of the house construction our debt load will be considerably smaller. The outbuildings will be built out of pocket and even the house will have no labor cost except for the foundation. The sitework, excavation, construction, plumbing, wiring etc will all be done by us,friends and family. Things are finally coming together ! In the mean time we leased a nice house in the edge of a crossroads hamlet 2 miles from our property. Although not really town it seems like it. Our dog has to be tied up or in the house most of the time. Everywhere I look there are neighbors, we’ll be glad to get back on our dead end road where we can look out our back door at our land and animals.
