Help needed! My son and I just got a sulky plow out of an old junk pile on the ranch. We want to restore to us with my team of mules. There is no brand name on it anywhere that we can see. All the parts have a number with a HF prefix. The plow point is missing and there doesn’t appear to be a way to put a pole in it, so something must be missing there. If you have any ideas about getting parts for this plow please let me know. Also, any pictures would be appreciated, showing how to attach a pole. etc.

Does there appear to be a rod linking the front furrow wheel to the rear furrow wheel? That is usually a sign that it used a tongue.
As Marshall said, a picture would really help.

Here’s a picture of my JD foot-lift plow – hopefully you can see the tongue attachment and the hitch attachment (vertical and horizontal).

Your pictures do look like a JD footlift sulky plow – that could even be an Oliver Raydex bottom with replaceable share. I’m not sure what to make of the hitch point on your plow (your first picture). Mine has a series of both horizontal and vertical holes for adjusting the line of draft – maybe you can just add those on without much trouble – they are invaluable.
Looks like a good plow that shouldn’t need much work – wire wheel that mouldboard before you get to turning any soil – it won’t scour perfectly but will do much better.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
