In preperation for spring field work I hooked a large tractor tire behind the forecart and headed down the driveway and out on to the township gravel road. After covering a half mile or so we stoped for a short breather and a young man pulled up in his car to thank me for the effort to grade the rather rough road. Not wanting to offend the local township maintenance folks I explained that I was simply work the team a little and not doing road maintenance although looking back over the section we had covered there did seem to be some benefit besides excercise for the team.

My sons have a little pony team that they have used to do all the chores this year. Feeding 75 head of cattle a day in various bunches. You should see how hard a pair of 450 lb ponies can get. They are tougher than I had ever imagined a team could get.March 16, 2012 at 6:47 pm #72898AnonymousInactiveMy kids think a really good evening is going for a tire ride wile I exercise the horses. Can’t wait untill they are old enough to hook thier ponies and enjoy the pride of a hard working pair.:)
