Todays Weather?

It looks pretty good here in the Valley Though Rio Grande City Had frost. Temp there was 29 degrees, Here it was 40 degrees today we hit 69 degrees tonite is expexted to be 55 degrees. I Am glad I Am not in the Midwest or N E. But I hope ALL the members up that way make it thru this Storm system safe!!So whats the weather like in your area?

Cold and blowing snow. Got 10″ fresh powder yesterday. Spent most of the day cleaning up. Shoveled 18″ total off the horse trailer. Hadn’t moved it since we started getting snow two weeks ago. Anyway this is PERFECT logging weather not too hot, good sledding, and snow isn’t so deep you can’t move around. 15 degrees F right now. Carl

Sigh, if I go reporting how the weather is pretty soon you all won’t want me around…

76 F, light breeze, a little rain earlier, but cleared off. Should be the same tomorrow and for the forseeable future.

Pretty much our weather is the same 365 days a year – the only thing that changes is the amount of rain. For 8 months we have some rain just about every day (not for long usually) and for about 4 months only about every other week or so.

Should I shut up? 😮

Weather was wild here today. I’m not sure how much snow we got. Probably only 4-5″. Wind has been our problem this winter and especially today. Radio said 80 mph winds and I reckon they’re right. Blew trees down, drifts are a real problem now. All my stackyards are drifted in. I’ve had to break trail most days just due to wind and drifts.
The people who’ve moved here in the last ten years are getting a taste of more ‘normal’ weather. They’ve built houses all over the high ground and are so drifted in they’ll not get a car to their houses ’til spring. County plows can’t keep up with it either.
This is one of those years when the teams really pay off. Everyone is stuck trying to get around in this stuff feeding their cows with trucks and tractors. I’m just gliding through and over it on my bobsled. Teams are getting worked down a little though, but it’s not enough to hurt them. Long time until we quit feeding though. Usually around mid May.

Yes, we got snow today also Carl. Not much 4-5″ so not too much of a problem in the woods. Some of the wood on the bottom of piles is frozen but the real problem is no frost in the ground and the snow is melting from the ground up. Easy to break through into the mud where we havn’t packed a road or trail and driven the frost in.

Mid 80’s yesterday, Right now its only 79 degrees. I’ll be getting back out in A few to cut More mesquite trees ,Trying to get the rest of my fence line done. 6′ chainlink. Just 160 feet And I Am done. This place was neglected for over 10 years , The last owners S I L was soposed to keep it clean But we ALL know how that works. Hecl theres trees 8″ in diameter growing thru the fence. Well I’ll be back at it after the hour!
