    Hi folks,

I’m looking for a single draft to team with my horse Hallie. My older mare Annie is close to retirement and its hard to ask her to keep up with my energetic new horse.

    Here’s what I’m looking for:

Price: I’m interested in any leads folks might have regardless of price.
Age: 10 or younger (My ideal age is around 6ish)
    Size: 16 to 17.2 hands
Breed/Coloring: no preference, but a color match would be slick. Hallie is a registered red Percheron.
Sex: Another mare would be great, but if its a gelding that could hold his own against a pretty sassy mare that would be wonderful.
Training: Very steady with substantial working/farm/carriage experience.
Attitude: Must have a solid work ethic to set an example for Hallie who has little work experience. When she is in harness and hitched we get some work done though.

I’d also consider an extremely steady team as we will be doing a substantial amount of three up work this spring, summer, and fall.

I’m trying to avoid purchasing through a horse dealer. I’ve found a thorough knowledge of a horses history to be priceless.

I’m currently living in Landgrove VT driving sleighs and logging. I’m interested in any and all leads. In February I’ll be heading back to Maine to my families farm.

Please Contact me either by phone (two0seven-31nine-977two) or through the forum.

    Thanks,

    carl

Hi Carl, I live just over the border in Cambridge NY. I have been keeping my ears peeled since I saw your add, have you had any luck finding a horse?

    Hi Jared,

Thanks so much for keeping a look out. No horse yet, actually not even a lead. I check the ME, VT, NH, MA, NY Craigslists frequently, but it really isn’t the place to find what I’m looking for. I’ve called a couple horse dealers, one in VT and one in Connecticut who I guess are on the lookout. I would much rather purchase this horse directly from the individual that trained and worked her but I don’t know what other avenues to pursue. My deadline is March as I would rather spread manure with horses over the Kabota so I’ve got some time. Thanks again for keeping an eye I out. I really appreciate it.

If folks have any horse dealers they would recommend I would love their contact info.

Hope everyone stays warm the next couple days!

    Carl

Larry Newcombe is a friend of mine and he has a nice coming percheron gelding. it isnt exactly what you are looking for but Larry is a great trainer and he is very trust worthy. If you call and talk to him he will be straightforward with you if it will work for your situation.
    his number is 518-480-1743
