Not sure if anyone is interested, but it is a 5 day auction- March 23rd to March 27th. Everything involving driving and farming with horses…from draft horses to mini horses, horse drawn carriages, carts and equipment… even tack and harnesses. It should be a good sale to check out! 🙂

March 17, 2010 at 4:16 pm #58792AnonymousInactiveI’m planning on Tuesday and Wednesday. The hotels in Waverly are booked solid. I’m staying in Cedar Falls overnight. Tuesday and Wednesday are the tack and cart auction days, right? That’s how I read it. I’m shopping for a harness and a 2 wheel road cart. I know if I stayed for the horse auction, I’d be coming home with atleast 1 horse… and I need another horse like a hole in the head. 🙂

They have several auctioneers going at once sometimes those days so you really need to pay attention to what you want and which auctioneer will be selling it when. oh and Come on everybody needs another horse….. and holes in your head aren’t near as bad as everybody makes them out to be. 🙂
March 18, 2010 at 10:21 pm #58790AnonymousInactiveLOL! You’re right! What’s one more hole in the head anyhow? 😀 I’m getting very excited about going.
March 25, 2010 at 4:12 am #58793MNMULEParticipantDid you buy anything, I heard this morning things were going real high. I’m heading down for the horses tomorrow right after lunch. Can’t wait, I don’t plan on buying anything but anytime you get to go and see that many draft horses in one place its a good day.
March 25, 2010 at 4:46 am #58789AnonymousInactiveOh I bought a ton of stuff. I’ve been saving up for this sale for awhile. Tuesday the prices were cheap. I didn’t get there in time to get a good look at a harness, so I paid quite a bit for one today. 🙁 The saddles were going dirt cheap on Tuesday as well. It seemed like there were more people there today (Wednesday). At auction I picked up a new and slightly bigger seat for my cart, a harness for my Clyde cross and a saddle. I made some purchases from vendors as well- a draft show halter, an embrodered jacket, got a free t-shirt, rosettes, mane roll ribbons and a tail bow. I almost bought a new trailer from a vendor down there as well! I think people got caught up in the auction. Honest to God, I saw a wheelbarrow go for $100. Yesterday I was watching the misc auctions and there were all kinds of things going for high dollar. I did get to meet someone from the forum there on Tuesday. Iron Rose is a great guy! I didn’t make it early enough in the morning (I might have overslept a bit) but we met up just before he left. It was a 5 hour drive one way for me. It was a lot of fun, and I am planning on going back again next year.
