What do wood bow pins look like? Are these just 3/8″ dowels or tapered friction fit pieces and do they typically have a handle or place to get a grip on them?

I suppose I could do one side of my bows that way with standard holes on the other side and thus have a choice of which pin type to use. Lets see what else comes up.

You can still use your metal key in the slotted hole.
I have never lost a wooden key out of the bow while in use. I can’t say the same for some of the metal keys.:mad:December 13, 2009 at 7:24 pm #56083RodParticipantHowie
Are your pins the same design as the ones Fabian showed us?
December 14, 2009 at 2:56 am #56086HowieParticipantThey are the same as Fabin’s.
I make them mostly out of hickory but I like to make them out of other material also.
I have a pair pounded out of iron, a pair out of bone, a pair out of cow horn, and a pair out of deer antler.:confused:December 14, 2009 at 11:58 am #56084RodParticipantNeat collection, thanks.
