There are a few amish farmers that no-till. So far all I’ve seen is beans though. I couldn’t imagine trying to do 300 acres with horse power, but I knew a guy who put in 80 acres of beans in a day with mules.
I would think you are only limited by time. If you aren’t afraid of spraying then there is some time saving in it. I’ve seen wheat that got a good stand and never needed sprayed. Some fertilizer will help with the stand. They do make no-till drillls that can be pulled with a team.
Having a tractor will help if you get pressed for time.

dbarker4322ParticipantFSA is loaning money at 1.5%. They will loan up to 45% of the amount. In order to qualify you need to have all your “ducks in a row”. It takes awhile to get approved and then you have to wait on the funding. They will guarantee the loan and hold the second mortgage, this makes it easier to get the other half through another bank.

dbarker4322ParticipantI have one that is the same way. I put a buckle in the bridle and buckle around her ears. It works and doesn’t bother me to do it.
dbarker4322ParticipantMy point wasn’t to blame “the lack of gmo”. It was to say that there would be less produced in this country as well as others..
dbarker4322ParticipantThe main benifit to RR alfalfa is the first cutting is as clean as the third. After a few years it will start to fade out just like the conventional stuff. We are on year 3 and it still has a stand. We spray it every year, though it usually just to test the sprayer. I see the pros and cons, but I don’t see it being as big as gmo grain crops. just my .02..
I also see the point on not wanting to consume gmo products. But remember, as you’ve read this 10 people starved to death in this world. Gmo does make it easier to grow a crop. Those 10 people wouldn’t of minded it… In my opinion it has it’s place..
