The transmission idea would work …. but it would put an awfull lot of extra drag on the rig….I always find that the simpler the system is the better. Remember that your pto forecart isnt going to be able to start anything that needs a lot of torque on start up….well unless its a big team your going with that is, in which case you will need the transmission after all..good luck with it and try and post some fotos….

Hi Geoff, glad your back. You sound as if it was a real packed in holliday. You were a bit further north than Mitch or you could have visited Jonathan Waterer. It was nice you saw the steps the pilgrims left from tho:)….

Hi Rod.. Are the rubber tyres off an automobile ? can the drum brakes not be added to the axle.. if not, then perhaps a chunk of car tyre could be used instead of the wood….

Is it true that they send managers on training courses to know how to monitor your account then offer you the “overdraft” facility but keep upping the level till it gets to a point that they know you will never be out of over draft ?!. I heard that recently over here….

Interesting article Charly.. its more than just the small loans tho.. you cant get paid unless it goes thru a bank.. you cant rent a house unless you have a bank account..direct debits the name of the game..if you pay a fone bill by cash it costs you more !!! and if a direct debit is due off and your $1 under in your account the SOB’s send you a letter telling you the bill wasnt paid… even though you have paid in for freakin years… then charge you £30 !!!!for a letter… Its all about control..

Know what you mean and I dont think your being overly harsh but…. I would give my eye teeth to be able to own a farm proper but cant.. so I drive road/railers at night and make hay, harrow, seed, plough and any other job I can find for my horses to do. We will soon be starting a big project at Robert Burns cottage {Scottish poet} with our horses recreating the market garden that his father had. Not farm work as such, but we make money with the horses.. I totally believe in the future of the draft horse and its modern application. When someone looks over the hedge as we make hay and say “Oh .. your doing it the old way”… i reply .. “No.. This is state of the art”.. they usually walk on with a patronising smile on their mush.. but I dont give a rats butt any more. I do what I can with the horses….

Thanks Jason.. that makes sense. Wayne at Pioneer offered to source equipment for me so I may give him a call and see how it goes. I gather they are quite pricey tho and the shipping would add $1000 probably.. a second hand one mite be a good option..
