Here is the timeline that we have been working off of. It can be updated as you all need it to be.
JeanParticipantThe chain was in the middle, but I did not have it on right, so it slipped. I have since had someone weld a loop there and I bought a swivel grab link, it works much better now and I don’t look so much like a hay seed.
JeanParticipantShe is adorable. Can you make it to the DAPNet Annual Gathering in September. It is in Brownington VT. You can meet many of the regulars to this forum there. Go to our draftanimalpower.org web page to find out about the event.
We are also hosting a winter logging workshop in Athol Ma in December. If you want more information about that let me know.

JeanParticipantGood for you to work her. I think most people would give up. Have you worked her at all with a driving whip. The man that I am training with is big on using the whip to give direction. Touch on one side or the other to get them to turn, touch on the butt to get them to go forward. I think if you teach her to stop by placing the whip someone where, maybe on her neck and then ask her to stop she would figure it out soon enough. It is harder to drive with a whip in your hand, but you may find that she likes the commands given that way rather than slapping the lines, which goes right to the bit in her mouth.
I have not trained a deaf horse, barely trained a fully hearing horse, so please take this advice for what it is worth!

JeanParticipantWelcome Wolfgang. We would like to see some pictures of your horses working. There is a man named Andy Bennet who is located a couple hours north of Atlanta that works with horses and his young boys work with ponies doing much the same stuff as their father does with the big ones. If you would like I could put you in touch with him.

JeanParticipantNews on Ted Russell – As many of you have heard Ted had a truck fire on Tuesday after heading home from Addison County Field Days. He was able to get his horses out of the trailer safely before collapsing from the serious burns he received on his face and hands. He was air lifted to Mass General where he is currently undergoing treatment for the burns. He will be there for at a least a week. He is doing ok and should have full functionality of his hands with some time and PT. Josie is able to be with him at this time.
I know many of us would like to help. Ted has helped so many of us over the years with our horses and by being a friend and mentor. We have started a fund to help Ted and Josie through this difficult time. If you would like to send some money please send it to GMDHA 271 Plank Rd Vergennes VT 05491 Be sure to put Ted in the memo line or include a note with it. There will also be an account opened at Merchants Bank on August 9th for this reason.
If you would like to send a note to Ted and Josie their address is: Ted Russell 3427 Route 30, Sudbury VT 05733.
JeanParticipantthe women’s tees are v necks. This image was only used to see what the logo would like. I have hats. if people are interested in totes I can do those too.
JeanParticipantHopefully this pdf file will work.
The image on the hat is the same as what is on the back of the shirt.
Scroll down to see the back of the shirt.
