If all you are doing is light work and you want to trail ride too a large breed saddle horse app Morgan etc. will suffice as long as it is harness trained! even a large quarter horse would do many of a western field was plowed with the same horse that rounded up the cattle. Hafflingers are well suited for riding as well as farm work!

So far no tipping problems but thats only ground testing here on the property ! The beam is solid and not a walking beam I tried using a walking beam but kept breaking the wheels off, and I fell over backwards when backing up to a log! So I went with a solid beam, that is a 1200 lb hard maple on the back and we had no problem with tipping forward or back ward the beam is only 32″ long and Galahad doesn’t have much problem turning it! the shafts are on a pivot point and roll with the terrain it has stops to keep the pivot from going to far.

What if you made some sort of a frame arrangement that would lift the logs as you pulled forward and then when you backed up it set it down on the sled

Very good reply john and I second that I had a very similar thing happened to me but with my daughter our dog of 14 years got bit by a rabbied bat and even though he had rabies shots they told me it wouldn’t protect him so being that he also had been suffering with arthritis I thought it best to put him down ! I went home and did the same thing to my daughter and it never effected her in any way other than the original sadness!

Joshua, if you have any pine boughs around through them in the wet spot and you will be able to go through it without much trouble! Or you can also put small logs to fill it in and cover over with dirt a little more work but it last longer
