I am interested in fighting this bill hard. In my opinion there is no reason for this degree of difficulty in animal ownership; and to involve state regulation is just insane. do they not have anything important to tend to? If they get away with this one, next will probably be cattle if they determine the vaccine to be safe for meat and milk. Of course knowing nothin about raising cattle you may already be vaccinnating them. Can anyone tell me how many cases of equine rabies there has been in NH? I asked each sponsor of the bill that specific question and nobody has answered my question. Money grab? Yes.
BTW I have tomorrow off and will be attending the hearing. If for nothing but to observe “stupid” in its natural environment.

LStoneParticipantWhen I first started my team together I ran one for a short while. But I leave it home now. Not that I am any wiser or smarter, it’s just that little things in bundles contribute to simplifying my life on a larger scale. I can see how it would prevent tangling with the tongue like Donn said. I’m thinking it is probably just a preference thing.
LStoneParticipantHi Josh,
I have been looking for a hay / hayride wagon and am interested in seeing them. I am located in Loudon as well. Can we arrange a time that is convenient for you so I can see them? I’ll call you around 4:30 this afternoon.

LStoneParticipantHey Jen,
Around Concord the prices are about that as well. I am looking for more too. I’ll let you know if I find something out your way though.LStoneParticipantThanks Jennifer,
I guess I’ll be doing it the hard way. She can be fine most of the time. she tries to backing out occasionally in the tie stall or bathing etc. but those I can control by stepping her up. If I leave her alone in the stall she is fine there. It is usually associated with motion like when I am ducking under her chin or something grabs her attention and surprises her. She is good standing while not tied but I think generally it may be a trust thing. I guess I have to get rid of the big bad boogie man. I seem to be successful using extra slow movement and a lot of physical contact. I guess it is just a matter of time maybe. Thanks
LStoneLStoneParticipantHello all,
I have a question for the group. I have a 2yo Belgian filly in April. I’ve had her for 9 months now. She came “halter broke” and since she has been at my place including an episode in the trailer on the way home, she’s had a hard time proving it to me. I try to be conscious of her fear and demonstrate patience when she is tied by taking my time, using a lot of contact etc. but she overreacts by violently Jerking her head up and jumping backward, in a reaction to motion and shadows etc. She is breaking halter hardware, lead ropes, crossties etc. I started her in harness and she is the same way in the blinders as well.
I am afraid I am going to have more problems as she gets bigger and stronger. She hasn’t pulled down the barn yet but I believe it’s only a matter of time. Other than that she’s a real keeper.
Any thoughts? I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
LStone
