Hello There. I tried to send you all an email regarding the Haflinger harness. Both times it has bounced back. Do you have another, or is it just my lack of computer skills. I have a set of team Haflinger harness, but still use one for my Appaloosa. I am located in the Rochester area of NY, and am willing to part with the other if you are interested. schofield.matt@yahoo.com
Matthew SchofieldParticipantI’m twenty six now, but figured that it was close enough for everyone. Started driving horses in the winter of ’07 for logging and sleigh work. Took an internship at Howell Farm for about 8 months which turned into another 2 years of work on top. Shoeing horses now in Central New York and using our first team, Haflingers, for farm work. Still working on building up equipment and patience working with a young team (5 yr. old gelding and 6 yr. old mare). Looking for land and horses to shoe out towards Brockport/Holley NY.
Matthew SchofieldParticipantI myself have no real farming experience, only a year or so with lines in my hands, but I do have a suggestion. “The One-Straw Revolution” by Masanobu Fukuoka was a good read about natural/sustainable farming (very small scale grain production). It entails quite a bit of hand labor and most likely won’t be viable for your situation, but it gets the gears turning. Introduction To Permaculture was another neat one. Good providence.
