BILL! I see you got some white rings on that team! I got some from my great uncle and I have no idea what the heck they are for! It looks as if you have the lines running through them. and you have a ring really high on the hames.

Well you have talked me in to it… My final project for school is now a forecart and not a logging arch…

Dumb question… how long will you use a team before giving them a break… I know each team will be different cause of endurance and stuff but lets say mowing or raking I wouldnt think would really be all that hard to do… nothing like plowing… half hour? Like I said just got this team and don’t want to push them too hard. I’m working on getting a stone boat made so they have something to pull and make them work a little bit cause I dont have anything heavy to pull

My gramps had always used horses even when they got tractors they still had horses that they used. My dad never had horses here but I went and got a team of pure Belgians, I enjoy working with them very much. I’m looking forward to mowing hay with them this summer… I’ll more than likely end up raking with a tractor only cause I don’t own a fore cart yet. Its on the to do list to make.

I’ll post some pics of it up. she needs to go under the knife one way or another, a lot of the wood is just rotten… is it something I can hook them to to pull around? yeah would I load it up with much of anything? no… not strong enough in my mind…

Gramps wagon has a 5th style steering, not as big as bud style hitch and also had wooden wheels. The spokes were cut off and these rims were welded on the hub of the wooden one. I’ll post some pics of it. I also think the rear should have a little bigger tires cause it slants backwards. I’ve been thinking of just find parts and building one from scratch. Or making a fith wheel hitch and axle from scratch cause I am a welder and know alot of machine tool guys.

I think they just cut the pole short and welded up a hitch set up and bolted it to the pole. I’ll post a vid of it

Im not a convention type of person I have to go to them all the time for school and the only reason I do is to get my name out there to get a job when im done with school.

A friend I went to highschool with milks his own herd of cows, he worked for a neighbors that had 2 barns, they split everything 50/50, they each had the same number of cows milking at all times now he’s at his dads place with a single 12 parlor I know his dad helped out alot esp with the parlor.

I understand what you mean, he rubs on me out side of harness that is the only time.

The horse im still having issues with (Prince) was shod in the rear, we had him on the road so im think that’s why he’s bothered. I have a farrier coming out sat to check him out but he doesn’t have shoes big enough for him…

They know were the water is, and they are out in the open, not as big as the other spot but still good sized place. Im gonna walk them around some tomorrow after school only because I don’t have enough time today. I was by them every day when they were at my friends place. They were really playfull the one horse is like him self just slower moving now. He walks up to you and rubs on you like your a fence post un till you pet him. The other one just lays around… im think they are just sore from the walk…
