highlands do have a problem in the heat, if your in NY you may not have a problem, down south in the summer they would get overheated fast I was in Rhode Island when I had mine and they where fine in the summer there, Did not realy work them to death though. it was about 7 years ago I started with them I since sold them when I finished logging in the woods
pigpenParticipantwe had a pair of chianina’s for around the farm, later we trained a pair of highlands because we where working in the forest there a lot smalller easy to control in tight areas, but if thats all you have available out there is dairy breeds they will work out fine for you to.
pigpenParticipantdevons are a mellow breed you should be able to just halter train him , our friends have some devons there bull never shows any agression, we have highlands there the same way real mellow our bull you can walk up and put a halter on him, any bull that starts actin goofy put him in the freezer
