Hope you folks have a blast! Wish I could make it, but alas it’s not in the cards this year.

December 9, 2012 at 9:10 pm #74875Ed ThayerParticipantWhat a great weekend with new and old friends and teamsters alike. A big thank you to all involved and to those that volunteered to help this weekend. We had participants from Long Island, CT, Ma, NH, Me, VT and NY. We also had students from Green Mountain College, Paul Smith College and Sterling College. It is very refreshing to see so many young people interested in draft animal power and sustainable forestry.

December 10, 2012 at 1:35 pm #74858Jim OstergardParticipantThis was a great workshop! Nice to put faces to names from this site and also nice to have a workshop where we were not so busy chopping and skidding that so many aspects of animal power could be discussed. Folks from all over, Long Island, New Jersey, New York, local Massachusetts and the norther New England contingent. I think we really were able to empower folks thinking about using animals and energize those already using them. Spreading the word this was and the connections made is to my mind what is so important for DAPnet and the community at large. Thanks to all who came in what ever capacity and shared. I sure got more from it than I gave! These smaller gatherings sure have an important place in building relationships and the community.
December 10, 2012 at 2:49 pm #74855Carl RussellModeratorIt sure is interesting that as these small regional events move around we still pull people in from all over the northeast.
I had a great time too. It is good to engage with interested folks, but it is also an important opportunity to work, at least for a short while, with other animal power loggers from afar, with whom I would not likely get a chance any other way. And of course the many hours of good conversations….
Great job of organizing by Ed, Jean, Jen, and Bradley.
