I was unable to attend the event this year at the NOFA conference as I was out of Town. How did the event go? Were you all happy with the new venue. I was dissapointed I could not go but hope to hear how you all made out.

Unfortunately I think that the logistics of having things going on at both the farm and at the campus (1/2 hr away) made it pretty difficult for people traveling back and forth.
I thought the research farm was an excellent venue for NEAPFD activities. If we had the freedom to have a broader event there, I think it would have been superior to Tunbridge.

August 19, 2011 at 10:18 am #68813Donn HewesKeymasterI had a great time as usual. Lot of friends and things to learn and see. Good turn out for work shops too. I did miss the community aspect of the slow evenings with everyone eating and talking around in small groups. I think we need a venue like this one, but on our own schedule. And free or nearly so. Maryrose just went outside so I better get going! Donn

Not sure if we want to do things that same way next year, but glad that we tried it there with NOFA. I agree with you, Donn, that there was less of a community feel than the old Tunbridge venue, but that site did have some advantages as well. Thanks also, Donn, for your wisdom in the no pressure driving workshop – I have changed bits on my Bob horse and am aiming for less pressure driving to start with. Always good to get a little extra incentive to try something new!
