French Connection?

Hi folks,
Tentative plans are in the works for my girlfriend and I to head to France this August. We’ll be in the Chignon area at the beginning of the month, but have some time to travel on our own. I would like nothing more than to meet up with a horseman or several while we’re there. Farming or logging makes no difference, and we’re both willing to jump in and help with work.

Does anybody have any contacts in France I can start to chase down? Any other ideas of MUST SEE or DO things to try, other than wine and great bread? I’d like to head to the Pyrenees, but at this point everything’s wide open.

I speak only a little bit. Learned in college but it’s been a while. Practicing is on my summertime list of things to do.

Sorry , man, I totally forgot about your trip. I did find a horsefarmer in France who speaks english. Tried to phone him all morning but no results. So i sended him a mail, hoping he will response to it.
