Looking for a harness for my Haflinger. I am borrowing one right now that was purchased from a harness maker in VT. The person I am borrowing the harness from could not remember his name. Thought I might post here and see what is available. I would like to get one from a local harness maker if possible.
I am trying to get a copy of Les Bardens video on the D-Ring harness so as to become familare with the correct fit and usage.
Thanks, Ed
Here is a pic of what I am using now,

Check out the classifieds on Greenmountaindraft.org, I think there are some harnesses there for sale.
What are your plans for the halflinger? Are you going to use him to pull wood, or help around the property.

also, what would be “local” for you? I know good amish harness makers in Pa.December 29, 2008 at 1:36 pm #48834Ed ThayerParticipantI have been ground driving him latley. He has been hooked to our pioneer forecart and I have hooked a single tree to the traces and had it connected to my dog sled. He seems to like pulling me around on that.
I would like him to pull wood and a sap scoot for our sugaring operation.
Thank’s for the tip on the VT organization.
