In an effort to downsize to a more manageable & sustainable operation, we are offering all or part of our farm for sale. Not to worry, we’re not getting out of farming or horse training, just reducing work load before it reduces us… or something like that!
Offering ~50 acres with house, barns, pastures & hay fields, a few acres of softwoods… this land has permanent perimeter fences, both 5 strand and woven wire, all high tensile, electrifiable. There is a solar/gravity pasture water system in place. There is additional leased land available adjacent & close by. This property could easily run a 40 cow dairy (Organic certification is not in place but the land qualifies) with the leased parcels. All fields have been fertilized with wood ash &/or manure each year. Great productivity, good soil, good farm opportunity. And of course it’s a great place to farm with horses as most fields are level/rolling, barn is close to fields, etc.
Or all 134 acres includes larger woodlot with mixed age cedar, spruce, fir, birch, red maple, some ash and other. 6 acres of sugar woods – about 700 taps plus another 700 leased sugarbush only accessible through our land. Sugar orchard currently leased on pipeline/vacuum but this arrangement will be renegotiated with the farm sale. There are also a few more fields in the larger parcel.
