The subject line is the title of a three part DVD that was previously aired singly on Rural Heritage RFD-TV. This DVD is now available through Rural Heritage. It is not intended to be a how to instructional piece but is highly informative and would serve to increase safety for anyone felling timber or working animals in the forest in a way that improves the aesthetics or natural appearance of the woods and long term value. This media collection could also serve as inspiration for anyone interested in this work. This would be a way to see the entire series to date – if you weren’t able to catch it on RFD-TV.

The cover of the DVD reads:

“Restorative Forestry Techniques provides the viewer with a hands-on look at how a small but dedicated group of men and women are working to harvest timber from our forest with an eye to working in harmony with the existing ecological balance. Jason Rutledge, president of the Healing Harvest Forest Foundation, shows us how and why they use horses, mules and oxen in the woods to harvest timber, why they select specific trees to remove, and how to do it all safely.
