Thank you for coming to the first Annual Southern Draft Animal Days.

Thanks again to each of you helping make history by being a part of this first annual Southern Draft Animal Days event.

This event is intended to be an introduction to many new folks interested in the culture, techniques and equipment to use draft animals today and in the future. We have invited every vendor of equipment and supplies needed for working with draft animals and are
thankful for the support and participation by the many manufacturers that shipped equipment to this area for demonstration by the invited teamsters. This event would not be possible without all these participants and contributors. All spectators are encouraged to show them your appreciation for all of their efforts. Many of these folks are the core of this cultural community as manufacturers and practitioners. Everyone attending is appreciated for their support and presence; you all make it worth while. Everyone is invited to visit with all the vendors and bargain for equipment to take home to do your work with or order it for future delivery. This is a unique opportunity to meet the maker’s of the equipment and discuss any aspect with them. It is also a rare opportunity to see the equipment working in application by experienced teamsters. These are all friendly folks, so this is a chance to let our Southern Hospitality shine.

We will have a trading post bulletin board at the barn where folks with horses, mules or equipment to sell can post information or anyone looking for anything specific can post also.

We also will have a guest farrier giving demonstrations on shoeing horses and mules throughout the event.

As you will notice the demonstration areas are separated by a caution ribbon and we would ask that if you are not wearing an exhibitor wrist band to not be in these areas.
We think that the smallness of the demonstration areas will allow spectators ample opportunity to observe all demonstrations from the behind the caution tape. This is a safety, liability – issue and we insist on the activities being conducted in this way.

Disclaimer is that this is a completely volunteer staffed event and that the times on this schedule of events will be adhered to as closely as possible, but your understanding is asked for any variance that may naturally occur. Some changes may occur in response to vendor, demonstrator and spectator feedback and request.

We would ask that folks keep up with any trash created in the event and dispose of it properly in the trash cans available throughout the grounds, thank you.

On the behalf of the Board of Directors of Healing Harvest Forest Foundation and the owner operators of Banks Farms Campgrounds we thank you all for being with us.
