We will be working on the log deck this Saturday, May 12th at Jay’s farm if anyone is intereted in coming to help out. We could put something together quickly with a few hands.
Call me @ 603-495-3554 or send me a message if you are interested in helping out.

May 10, 2012 at 6:29 pm #72684LongViewFarmParticipantThings are coming together. I’m looking forward to seeing you all again, getting some wood in for a worthy cause, eating great food, and getting more exposure for DAPnet.
May 12, 2012 at 1:04 pm #72652jen judkinsParticipantI’m gonna go out on a limb here, but I would like to propose a raffle to go with this event and have the proceeds donated to Geoff Pritchard and his family to help with their fire loss recently. I have some items I will bring. Anyone else who wants to donate an item or two to this special raffle let me know. I will be at Shelburne Farms plowing tomorrow for anyone in the Champlain valley area who wants to drop something off with me. Lets get the word out, so we have plenty of raffle ticket buyers. They are 2.00 each and 3 for 5.00.
May 13, 2012 at 11:41 am #72685LongViewFarmParticipantJen, I will find something this week to contribute to the raffle.
I thought folks would like to see the log deck we’ll be working from. Ed and I got it put together in just over an hour yesterday.
It has a few more logs on it today.

Really looking forward to meeting you, Erika is bringing her Shorthorns too if she can find a truck to haul them with.
See you on Saturday,

May 15, 2012 at 3:36 pm #72683LongViewFarmParticipantHere are directions to the farm. We’ll be parking trucks and trailers in the field just before you get to 338 Borough Rd. Look for Ed and Jim’s trucks there Sat morning. I will have white signs up directing you in from rt. 12 and Shutters Way.
Do Not Follow Your GPS except to get to Charlestown and then head north.
Directions:
Directions: Do not follow your GPS directions!!!
From the south: Take I-91 to Springfield, Vermont. (Exit seven) Take a left off the ramp, and cross into New Hampshire. Immediately after crossing the bridge, take a left onto Lovers’ Lane. Drive approx. 1 mile to a stop sign. Turn Left (north) onto NH Rt. 12. Drive 3-4 miles until you see “Hemmingway Farms” farm stand on your left. Take the next right onto Shutters Way.
At the end of Shutters Way take the second left (Not Salt Shed Rd.) onto Unity Stage Rd. Continue on this road approx 3 miles, bearing right and climbing a steep hill. The road will change to a dirt surface at the top of the hill. Long View Farm, Inc is thefirst driveway on the right after the pavement ends. From the North: Take I-91 to Ascutney, Vt (Exit 8) Drive east into New Hampshire. At the first stoplight in NH, take a Right onto NH Rt. 12-A. Follow 12-A south for several miles, through the village of North Charlestown. Soon after the village Rt 12-A joins NH Rt. 12. Take a right turn at the stop sign as this junction. (Now heading south on rt. 12.) Be prepared and take the first left onto Shutters Way at the top of the hill. Follow directions above to get to camp.

Still planning on coming down with my team and arch. Having some trailer issues but hope to be there by 9 AM. Want me to bring all chopping gear?
-BradMay 15, 2012 at 11:31 pm #72667Ed ThayerParticipantOK ,
Here is the list of people to date that are planning to attend with animals.
Jay Fisher with horses, Brad Johnson with horses, Jen Judkins with horses, Ed Thayer with a single, Bay state Tom with a team of steers and Erika with her short horns.
Everyone is welcome to bring their chopping gear if they wish, We have a pretty good pile on the ground and ready to head to the farmhouse.
Any questions, give us a call. The weather forecast sounds awesome for Saturday.

May 16, 2012 at 11:02 am #72653jen judkinsParticipantI’m hoping to have a great turnout Saturday! We will be holding a raffle after lunch to benefit Geoff Pritchard’s (near horse) and his family who just suffered a huge barn fire recently. We have a lot of cool items, including some draft horse artwork, logging grab hooks, maple syrup, canned goods, shelburne farms sharp cheddar, to name a few. Items from Meaders and Kellyville tack have been donated as well. So come on out and support a fellow DAPNet member and previous DAPNet President. This is a free event. NH Chronicle will be there, doing a promo piece for DAPnet and we have a super line up of teams and teamsters! Should be a very fun day…
If you cannot be there and want to buy raffle tickets, or donate to the fire fund, email me at jenjudkins930@gmail.com. Thanks for your support.
May 17, 2012 at 10:08 pm #72693BaystatetomParticipantIs there any plan on meals, should i pack a brown bag for myself or a cooler of venison steaks to share?, that is if there is a grill around.
~TomMay 18, 2012 at 12:01 am #72686LongViewFarmParticipantWe’re planning on a potluck lunch Tom. I’m not sure what the mix will be, bu ti know there’ll be chile, sheppard’s pie, beans, and more, but I haven’t heard from most folks. We will have a grill available.
Is anybody planning on heading here Fri night for camping? I think we might try the cooking on a wood chunk idea.
May 18, 2012 at 2:02 am #72677Jim GarvinParticipantEd (Highway) and I will be there late afternoon/early evening tomorrow (put Charlestown Police on notice). We’ll set up camp and be ready for the onslaught of volunteers to show up early on Saturday. We’re planning on bringing venison/pork chili, homemade energy bars, bread, veggies and dip and a whole lot of other grits!! No one will go home hungry……on the contrary, you’ll be full of great friendship and knowing that you’ve helped out less fortunate!!
May 18, 2012 at 10:46 am #72654jen judkinsParticipantI might try to come out tonight. What time is dinner??
May 18, 2012 at 5:09 pm #72668Ed ThayerParticipantJim and I will be leaving Washington around 3:00. Be at the farm by 4:30 or so, set up the padock for Oz then dinner I would guess around 6:30 or 7:00. Cocktail hour could be anytime 😉
I am all packed up and ready for a great weekend:)
Any questions, call my cell @ 603-340-4035
