Here’s a good one: http://www.mapmyhike.com. It’s a free service (with adds). I’ve been able to take my gf’s smartphone out in the woods and record my hikes along the woods roads. Then when I get home I can log in and see the path I traveled overlaid on either USGS topo, a less precise topo, or satellite view with google earth. What’s really nice is the ability to toggle between these maps. I’ve attached some pictures.
I imagine this wood be a good tool for discussing forestry plans with clients, especially if you can show them on the satellite picture what the forestry plan is.
