I have one of those that I bought and the old boy that owned it called it a hupmo harrow, not sure on the spelling. He told me that they were used in the berries. I am planning on useing it in vineyard. Great machine

    Hi Ed,

Hope you’re doing well. I’ve never seen one of those units before but it looks like it could be the precursor to the modern rotary hoe. How far below the frame do the “blades” stick? Can you adjust that or is it just one depth?

Geoff, you can’t adjust depth. It looks like the lever adjusts the angle of the rods that hold the blades. Kind of like a disc harrow. I wondered if it would work for loosening compacted soil after the winter. I can only disc with a tractor as I do not have a horse drawn unit. I thought this might be usefull.
