IMHO I would say the old mower would be 4 ft. for single and 6 ft. for a team. I would also say that I&J are probably right on as I would think that the new machines would pull and cut a lot easier than the old style. Oh yeah, what are “vast flat plains”, Not in New York!!! LOL

Jay, that pic. is awesome. I hope you don’t mind a little critique. That collar looks awful tight or way to high on that horse. Also the britchin might be a little low on the leg and a little tight. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it. Other than that it looks way cool.

I like Ash. many people use a lot of other types of wood, depends on what is available in your area.

You don’t want any knots in your pole. That’s what caused the break,my guess anyway. Hope your friend recovers soon.

In the back you could just run a chain up to the rack. the steering in the front makes it more difficult, especially if it’s not a fifth-wheel steer. Not sure how Pioneer does it. anything that will stop the ski from flipping .

Yes, they are bolted on just like the wheels are, and yes, you want to use stay chains.

If that is a horse drawn disc, someone has done a lot of work to make it look like a tractor drawn disc.Other than the seat post, that doesn’t look like any HD that I’ve ever seen. Are there any brand or model # on it anywhere??

As long as you give them a selenium supplement, the red should be fine.

I would believe that those are tractor drawn tandem disc,if that’s a seat post i think someone put it on there so they could use the front half with horses. JMHO
