I have a 40 hp Kubota diesel engine on my power cart that I made.
I have hydraulic’s and 540 pto on it. Made it on a three wheel frame,
usually pull with two draft mules.Has lots of power and is fairly
quiet.
BarwBarwParticipantMost mower poles are 14′ long.

I just use what I have at hand and what is the cheapest.
Both work fine.BarwParticipantbarw
Andy I agree we should try a pilot project.Keep everyone on site if possible.
I too find u-tube distracting.
There is a lot of knowledge out there among our members.BarwParticipantbarw
I think it is an excellent idea and would be interested to partake.
Frankly I am surprised no one has brought the idea forward previously.BarwParticipantIf the eye is draining, could be the start of pink eye.

Where are you in Canada? I am in SE BC.
Just google Hitch masters.
BarwBarwParticipantIron Rose I will keep you in mind if I locate some sickle stones.
BarwParticipantI have the grinding stone attachment that clamps to the mower
wheel to sharpen the sections. It is hand cranked. The stone is
beveled to contour the knife sections.
Does many one know where I may purchase at replacement stone?BarwParticipantNice looking pic’s.Your team is identical to mine.
Did some plowing, discing and harrowing with my team

It is good general duty cart and is more than enough power for a small square baler but will run a small round baler. You can get small diesel engines in the 20 hp range that would power a square baler. A small car engine would have more than enough power.
My suggestion would be to use what you have available and what is affordable. A small square baler only requires about 15 hp to operate as it has the flywheel to provide the inertia. Just my thoughts.BarwParticipantGeoff so sorry to hear of your loss just don’t know what to say. I know real well your head is spinning right now but things will come into focus. Its hard to replace all the things you had, some things you won’t miss till you need them.
Make a list of inventory while it still fresh in your mind.Keep us a in the loop if there is any thing I can help with just post.BarwParticipantI use synthetic gear oil in the mower.
